Coaching - SOARING System
Coaching is an integral part of any manager's personal development. These days, businesses all around the world are investing in their people to ensure they lead and manage in the right way. Fauve People Development has developed its own unique coaching system, called SOARING, to allow each coaching participant to develop their own appropriate skills and behaviours that align with their employer's values, strategies and demands.
Fauve's SOARING coaching system can be easily defined by the acronym:
Self – knowing yourself in-depth
Others – knowing others to the same degree
Acceptance – understanding and committing to the areas you need to work on
Relevance – identifying which development areas are relevant to you
Intentions – putting actions in place to work on areas for development
Noticing changes – reviewing actions and determining what has worked
Goal review – measuring the total outcomes of your development efforts
The SOARING system allows participants to not only understand themselves to a greater degree, but also to develop an in depth understanding of the other people they interact with in the workplace.
In implementing our coaching programs across the world, we have identified that many people who have undergone coaching or self-development in the past have spent a large amount of the program developing a greater sense of self awareness, without gaining knowledge on their colleagues.
Whilst coaching on self-awareness is vital to any program, introspection without consideration for the behaviours of others only implies that the coachee will develop a one style to suit all approach.
Tailoring leadership to suit each individual is far more efficient, and results show that managers who take the time to understand others have had significantly greater success in practising successful leadership behaviours.
